Any individual or any legitimate business is allowed to open an account with GLOBALINKS.
How do I open an account?

Business Accounts:
Please submit the following documents.
i. Certified as True Copy by your Corporate Secretary

  • a. SEC Certificate of Registration/Incorporation or DTI Certificate of Registration (for Sole Proprietorship)
  • b. Articles of Incorporation/Partnership (or its equivalent), and By-Laws
  • c. Latest General Information Sheet (GIS) filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
  • d. Latest Audited Financial Statements
  • e. Supporting corporate documents, e.g. Business Permits and Licenses

Other Requirements:

  • a. Notarized Secretary’s Certificate of Board Resolution, authorizing the Business to open an GLOBALINKS account.
  • b. Photocopy of at least one (1) government-issued photo bearing ID of each authorized signatory
  • c. Company Profile
  • d. Two (2) GLOBALINKS signature cards, filled out and signed by all authorized signatories
  • e. Notarized Statement of Beneficial Owner(s) or Notarized Statement of No Beneficial Owner(s)

Foreign Citizens:
Please submit the following requirements.

  • a. Alien Certificate of Registration or Immigrant Certificate of Registration
  • b. For Resident Citizens:
    • i. Work Permit from DOLE
    • ii. Photocopy of one (1) valid and unexpired Primary ID
  • c. For Non-Resident Citizens:

In Trust For (ITF) Accounts:

Is there a minimum investment amount requirement needed to open the account?
GLOBALINKS only requires you to initially deposit PHP 20,000.00 in opening your account.
How long does the account opening process take?
The processing of your account opening application may only take up to two (2) working days, provided that you have completely submitted the requirements.

Account Funding

How do I deposit funds on my GLOBALINKS Account?

Your Reference Number is provided in the account opening confirmation, and you will use such information to deposit funds in your GLOBALINKS account through the following channels:

  • a. Over-the Counter Deposit
  • b. Bills Payment Facility (Over-the-Counter and Online)
  • c. Online Fund Transfer

When can I use my funds?

The clearing of your funds will depend on the payment scheme you used, as follows:

How to Trade

When can I start trading?

You may start trading once you have funded your GLOBALINKS Account.

What financial instruments can I purchase or sell?

You can trade all active equity securities listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).


What is the PSE Trading Schedule?

Trading in the PSE is scheduled Mondays to Fridays, except when the day falls on a Philippine holiday or when the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) clearing office has been closed.

What is the difference between Board Lot and Odd Lot?

Board Lot orders are done at the Normal Market, wherein you must purchase or sell shares at the minimum lot size or at multiples of the minimum lot size. For example, if you wish to purchase a stock with price amounting PHP 4.00, you must purchase at least 1,000 shares or an amount multiple of 1,000 shares. Meanwhile, Odd Lot orders are Orders with volume less than the defined Board Lot and are only executed in the Odd Lot Market.


Would I pay fees and charges for my trading transactions?

Do you impose a minimum volume per trade?

GLOBALINKS does not impose a minimum volume per trade, but the market price of your security determines the minimum number of shares that you can buy or sell. Table below shows the corresponding Board Lot and Tick Size for various stock prices.

What are the types of Orders that I can post or instruct?

Generally, Orders can be posted or instructed as Good-Till-Day (GTD). However, you may also post online or instruct your GLOBALINKS Salesman to post Good-Till-Cancelled (GTC) and Good-Till-Week (GTW) orders.


Is my Order executed immediately?

Orders, whether posted online or instructed to a GLOBALINKS Salesman, shall be posted immediately in the Exchange, however, matching of Orders shall depend if your Order has been matched by a counterpart Order in the Exchange.


How would I know if my Order has been posted and matched?

For GTRADE users, the matched purchase or sale transaction shall be reflected in your portfolio. For non-online clients, your GLOBALINKS Salesman shall send an e-mail confirmation within the Trade Date that your Order has been posted and matched. If you immediately want to know the status of your order, you may call our Trading Desk at (+632) 7368-2914


Can I modify or cancel an Order?

You may modify or cancel an Order for as long as they have not been matched. No Orders can be cancelled during the Pre-Open No Cancel and Pre-Close No Cancel periods.


Can I post or instruct an Order after PSE Trading Hours?

You may post or instruct Orders after PSE Trading Hours, but it shall be posted on the following PSE Pre-Open period on a first-come, first-served basis.


Is short selling allowed by GLOBALINKS?

GTRADE and GLOBALINKS does not allow execution of short sale transactions.


Can I purchase securities on margin or credit?

GLOBALINKS has no margin or credit facility available at the moment


Are there any additional fees or handling fees that I should pay?

GLOBALINKS does not charge any additional or handling fees other than mentioned in Section Summary of Fees and Charges herein.


Settlement and Delivery of Cash & Shares

Trade Settlement

How can I settle my stock purchases and sales?

Your purchasing power is defined by the amount of funds invested in your GLOBALINKS account, hence, the net amount of your purchase shall be automatically debited in your account. On the other hand, your stock position determines the number of shares that you can sell and therefore, shares sold shall automatically be debited in your portfolio.

How long would it take for my trading transactions to completely settle?

Settlement of your trading transactions takes three banking days (T+3) after the Trade Transaction. This date is called the Settlement Date.

Can I purchase other shares today if my proceeds from a sale transaction is not yet settled?

You may use proceeds from a sale transaction to purchase other securities even if your sale transaction is not fully settled.

Can I sell my shares on the same day that I purchased them?

You may sell your shares on the same day you purchased them.

Lodgement of Stock Certificates

What is lodgement?

Lodgement is the process wherein your stock certificates are converted to electronic shares, in which shares are deposited in your brokerage account.

Why do I need to lodge my stock certificates?

Lodging your stock certificates with a PSE-registered stockbroker would allow you to sell your shares quickly via the PSE.

What are the requirements needed to facilitate lodgement of stock certificates?

The following table shows the procedure and the requirements needed in processing lodgement of stock certificates:

Check the name on the stock certificates. Names should be the same with your GLOBALINKS Account.

Stock certificates can only be transferred to Accounts bearing the same name of account holder/s.

Endorse/Sign the stock certificate/s at the back.

Signature in certificate/s, IDs and signature cards must be the same.

Fill out and sign the necessary forms.

  1. a. Lodgement of Stock Certificates Form

  2. b. Signature Card per stock, regardless of the number of shares

  3. c. Additional Personal Information Sheet

Prepare a photocopy of two (2) valid and unexpired government-issued IDs.

Picture and signature on ID must be clear.

Submit all requirements to GLOBALINKS Office for processing.

Completion of Lodgement may take 1-3 weeks. GLOBALINKS will send an e-mail notification once Lodgement has been done.

 

*Personal appearance may be required by the Transfer Agent of the stock.

The Transfer Agent will notify GLOBALINKS if you are required to have a personal appearance with them.

 

*Processing fee will be charged in your Account.

Your account must have sufficient balance to cover the Lodgement Fee. Fee is indicated in section Summary of Fees and Charges herein.

How long will it take to complete?

Completion of the process depends also on the processing time of PDTC and of the Transfer Agent. Generally, the process takes around one (1) to three (3) weeks to complete.

I have stock certificates under my maiden name and my GLOBALINKS account is under my married name. Can I still lodge my stock certificates?

You may lodge your certificated shares under your maiden name, provided that you submit your Marriage Certificate with the general lodgement requirements. Please note that the Transfer Agent may require you to personally appear at their office to update your records.

What if my name in the stock certificate and in my GLOBALINKS account has a discrepancy?

You must submit a duly notarized Affidavit of One and the Same Person together with the general lodgement requirements. However, this will only be allowed on minor discrepancies, i.e. Maria vs. Ma., or a misspelled name.

Upliftment of Shares

What is upliftment?

Upliftment of shares pertain to the process wherein electronic shares lodged in your GLOBALINKS account shall be converted into certificated shares
